Thought- The Messiah

"There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, And a Branch shall grow out of his roots." - Isaiah 11:1, NKJV

Isaiah 11:1-5 gives us the foundation for the expected Jewish Messiah who we now know as Jesus.

He was a descendant of King David, thus the name the Branch.

And the word nazar (Branch) in Hebrew gives us the concept that the Lord would be from Nazareth.

Also He would be led by the seven Spirits of God. (See Rev. 1:4)

And He would be absolutely righteous and just.
