WELCOME TO LIFE BIBLE BAPTIST MINISTRIES

Our Doctrine: Welcome

OUR DOCTRINE

I. God:
We believe that there is a God, one and only one God. He is in essence an invisible spiritual being. He exists in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each of the Persons are equal and eternal. (See Deuteronomy 6:4; Jeremiah 10:12, 16; John 4:23-24; 17:3; Ephesians 4:4-6)

II. Christ:
We believe that Jesus (or the Hebrew-- Joshua), was a Jew and a descendant of David, and He was a man sent by God to save us from our sins. He performed miracles, suffered and died upon a cross and rose from the dead as foretold by the prophets. Thus He is the Messiah and the Son of God. He currently sits at the right hand of God in a resurrected body as our High Priest and will physically return to the earth to set up His everlasting kingdom.
(See Isaiah 53; Micah 5:2; Matthew 1:1; John 20:20, 21; Acts 10:36-41; Romans 9:34;
I Corinthians 15:23-25; Hebrews 8:1; 10:12, 13)

III. The Holy Spirit:
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the Person of God who inspired the Scriptures. He edifies, equips, and unites the Body of Christ. He indwells the believer permanently at the moment of salvation. He instructs us regarding the Christian life. He enables us for service. He is the main Helper in the process of sanctification. He keeps us in this life by the power of God. He distributes the spiritual gifts to the saints as He chooses.
(See II Samuel 23:1,2; John 15:26; 16:13; Romans 8:9-11; II Corinthians 1:21,22; Ephesians 1:13,14; Hebrews 3:4; I Peter 1:5; Revelation 2:7)

IV. The Bible:
We believe that the Bible is the primary authority for the Church. It is the sacred book containing all of God’s words, ways, actions, and standards of righteousness He desires us to know and live by. It is in the truest sense the written word of God. It has been kept free from error and is the source we should look to first for guidance and ultimately in all areas of life.
(See Proverbs 30:5, 6; John 10:35; Romans 15:4; II Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 4:12; II Peter 1:16-21)

V. The Church:
We believe that the Church is both the universal and local assembly of baptized believers in Christ who have been chosen to be God’s instrument for carrying out His plans and purposes for this time in history. Its primary purpose in the world is to be a witness to Jesus Christ until He returns. The Church is also called the Body of Christ. Each believer must be a member of a local church in order to exercise his or her spiritual gifts and to maintain accountability. We believe that the Church only has two rituals given to it by Christ: Baptism by immersion and Holy Communion.
(See Matthew 16:18; 28:18-20; Acts 2:41, 42; I Timothy 3:15; Hebrews 10:25)

VI. Sin:
We believe that sin is the violation of God’s laws. Sin was introduced to the world through Adam in the Garden account in Gen. 3. Consequently, every human being is a sinner by nature and stands condemned before God. Sin must be repented of and confessed to God through Jesus Christ. Only then is sin forgiven. God will ultimate judge sin and sinners in the 7-year tribulation and in the Lake of Fire.
(See Proverbs 28:13; John 8:34, 36; Romans 3:9-12; 5:12-21; Galatians 3:22; I John 3:4; Rev. 21:8)

VII. Salvation:
We believe that salvation is available to everyone and granted to any individual who turns from his or her sins and believes that the Jewish man, Jesus, is the Messiah and the Son of God. At the point of salvation, the believer is born again, forgiven of all sins, past, present, and future and given eternal life (the promise of immortality). Salvation includes deliverance from the 7 year Tribulation period coming on the earth. It also includes deliverance from the final judgment—the Lake of fire. Salvation is an act of God alone granted by His grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
Once it has been given to a person it can never be lost.
(See Matthew 1:21; John 6:47; 10:25-27, Acts 10:43; Romans 5:9; I Corinthians 15:54-57; I Thessalonians 1:10; Titus 3:3-7)

VIII. The Second Coming of Christ:
We believe that the Second Coming of Christ will take place in two phases: (1) as the Rapture; (2) as a literal return to the earth to destroy all sinful rebellion and to set up His everlasting kingdom. The Rapture will include the resurrection of the bodies of the believers who have died since the Lord’s first coming and the “catching away” of the living believers to heaven. The Rapture could happen at any time. The literal return of Christ to earth will follow the Rapture. No one knows the timing of these signs or when Christ’s return will take place.
(Matthew 24:29, 30, 36; 1Thessalonians 4:15-5:10; II Thessalonians 2:3, 4; Titus 2:13; Hebrews 9:28)

IX. Satan:
We believe that Satan is a real supernatural being. He is also called the devil. He is a created being of the angelic order and possesses great power but not omnipotence. He is the ruler of the host of fallen spiritual beings (called "demons”) who have rebelled against the authority of God. He tempts us but cannot force us to sin. The only control he has over us is the control we give him. He can only be resisted successfully by those walking obediently in the Spirit. He will be judged and destroyed at last after Christ returns and sets up His everlasting kingdom
(See I Chronicles 21:1;Job 1:6-11; John 8:44; Acts 13:10; Ephesians 6:11-13; I Peter 5:8,9; Revelation 12:3,4,9,10; 20:10)

X. Spiritual Gifts:
We believe that every believer possesses at least one spiritual gift. The Holy Spirit distributes the gifts as He chooses and decides what gift we each will receive. He gives them for the purpose of benefiting the entire church body. We do not believe that there is one particular gift or manifestation that every Christian must have to be saved or to be considered Spirit-filled. We do believe that a life manifesting the Fruit of the Spirit strongly indicates salvation.
We believe that there are some gifts no longer in operation, such as, apostles, speaking in other dialects, and possibly prophecy and the ability of being able to heal the sick.
(See Romans 12:3-8; I Corinthians 12:4-7, 29-31; 13:8; Galatians 5:22, 23; Eph. 4:7-11; Hebrews 2:3,4; I Peter 4:10)

XI. Eternal Security:
We believe that if one is a genuine believer, having turned from his sin and placed his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, he has eternal security. This means that that individual can never lose the salvation he has received. The Scriptures clearly indicate that we have been saved by God’s grace, are kept by God’s power, and sealed with His Holy Spirit, all which were done without our assistance. Moreover, we believe that Christ died for us knowing all of the sins we would commit in our lifetime and still has freely forgiven us. Notwithstanding, I believe that when a Christian commits sin he receives God’s chastening which may result in death. But his soul will be justified when he stands before Jesus Christ.
(See John 10:27-29; Romans 5:8; 8:1,30,34; I Corinthians 5:3-6; 11:27-32; I Peter 1:5,9; I John 5:16)

XII. If God asked you, “Why should I let you into heaven?” how would you respond?
A good response would be
“Father, You must grant me entrance into Your kingdom - because I have believed the testimony of Scripture which says that You sent Your Son to be the Savior of the world. As You commanded, I have repented of my sins and personally received Jesus as Christ and Lord! And I have the inward witness of Your Spirit that I am Your child!”
(See Mark 16:16; John 3:16; 6:47; Romans 8:16; 10:9-13; Ephesians 1:13, 14; I John 4:13-15; 5:11-13)
